TEAM AWAY DAY

A day in the hills, built around your team. Choose from a range of experiences or combine a few to create a day that suits your group. From mountain and navigation days to climbing and abseiling, everything is guided from start to finish.

Getting people out of the office and into the mountains creates space to strengthen relationships, build confidence and develop how a team works together. It also gives people time to step away from work and enjoy being together. We believe that connection is part of a healthy, resilient team. When the day is done, we finish somewhere good. A simple way to experience Crossbill for the first time.

The Best of Our Experiences

These are some of the experiences we are asked for most often. If you have something else in mind, tell us. We like a challenge.

Woman Climbing Rock

Rock Climbing

Whether it is your first time on a rope or you have climbed for years, the day is built around your ability and what you want from it. Scottish crags and mountain routes, from an afternoon learning the moves to a long multi-pitch line with air beneath your feet.

Mountain walks

A guided day, or a run of days, on Scotland's highest peaks. There are 282 Munros, and getting up them safely takes more than ambition, navigation, judgement of weather and ground, and knowing when to turn back. Led by people who know these hills in all conditions. The reward is the top, and somewhere good to be at the end of it.

Whisky Tasting + Bothy Walk

A walk into the hills to a bothy, and a dram once you are there. The route is chosen to suit the day and the group, an afternoon's walk through open country to a shelter that takes some reaching. When you arrive, a tasting of Scottish whiskies chosen with care, drunk somewhere you cannot drive to.

Wild wellness sessions

Guided breathwork, meditation and yoga, on their own or woven into a wider experience. A different kind of effort from the physical. A great way to centre the mind and connect with the Landscape.

Wild Swimming & Sauna

Cold water and hot, the way it is meant to be done. A wild swim in a loch or a river pool, then a wood-fired sauna to bring the warmth back, run in cycles through the day. A day that sounds gentle and is anything but, bracing, restorative and quietly addictive. Somewhere good to eat and rest when you are done.

Cooking Together

Highland cooking experience

A day that sounds gentle and is anything but, bracing, restorative and quietly addictive. Somewhere good to eat and rest when you are done.

Hands Reaching Food

Highland picnic

A little luxury, somewhere wild! Combine with one of our other activities, perhaps a short walk to a hidden loch, or a days climbing with a selection of exceptional local produce, something good to drink and time to sit, eat and take in the landscape. Because the best table in Scotland doesn't always have four walls. And when the food is earned, it tastes even better.

Group size

Best suited to teams of 10 to 50. Enough team members for collaboration and challenge, small enough for everyone to have a say. Smaller groups are welcome too.

What's included

Each programme is completely bespoke. We can include food, activities and transport depending on what you require. Once you arrive, everything is taken care of. Your team only needs to show up ready.

Who runs it

Every programme is led by qualified outdoor instructors and specialists in their fields. They manage safety on the hill and run the sessions back at base camp.

Fitness and experience

A moderate level of fitness and a willingness to push yourselves is all that’s needed. No outdoor experience is required. Tell us about any access or health needs and we’ll plan the days around your team.

What a day looks like

Every day is different, and will be tailored specifically around your team, but the shape holds. Challenge first, a climb, a mountain or scramble. Then something slower at the end to savor the experience.

Arrival and brief

Coffee at the base. Kit issued and checked. A short brief on the day and the objective.

The challenge

Split into groups with a map and an objective. A point to reach, or a person to locate across open ground. The decisions sit with the team.

Lunch on the hill

Regroup and eat somewhere with a view. Time to compare notes before the afternoon.

More activity

Abseiling, scrambling, climbing, breath workshop, cold water swimming or a summit, matched to the group.

The way back + de-brief

Back to base. What worked, what did not, over a refreshment.

Dinner

A table held if the day runs on into the evening.
