THE CHALLENGER WEEKEND

Select your activities or allow us to build your weekend around a theme with a clear objective. Navigation, decision making, changing conditions and the occasional hard hour will be vital. The sort of experience that tests a group in ways a single day simply cannot. Then, at the end of it, somewhere warm with a great meal, a comfortable bed and time to sit back and take it all in. As close to an expedition as a company can do together, without sacrificing the good things. We take on only a handful each year, giving each one the time and attention it deserves.

your weekend, your way

The Challenger Weekend runs over two to three days. The core shape stays the same but the detail is built around your team. We design the itinerary together so the challenge fits the people taking it on. If the length is fixed and there’s less flexibility, this simpler version works instead:

What a Challenger Weekend could look like

 Day 1: Arrival + Briefing

Evening: Arrive at base camp, settle in and have dinner. After dark, the first briefing. The information is incomplete and the clock is running.

Day 2: A full day built around one objective

Morning: Plan the search, then follow a trail of clues into the hills.

Afternoon: More demanding terrain. This may include climbing, abseiling or a cave system with qualified guides.

Evening: Regroup at base camp, review progress and plan the next stage. Then a good meal and time to relax.

Day 3: The final lead

Morning: New information changes the picture. The team plans a final route to the hostage’s last known location.

Afternoon: Reach the objective and bring the hostage to safety. A debrief on how the team communicated, decided and led.

The finish: Refreshments at base camp and a relaxed close to the weekend.

All activities are adapted to the group, location and conditions. Climbing, abseiling and caving are led by qualified staff. The focus is teamwork and decisions, not technical skill.

Group size

Best suited to teams of 10 to 25. Enough team members for collaboration and challenge, small enough for everyone to have a say. Smaller groups are welcome too.

What's included

Each programme is completely bespoke. Accommodation, food, all activities and transport for the length of the programme. Once you arrive, everything is taken care of. Your team only needs to show up ready.

Who runs it

Every programme is led by qualified outdoor instructors and specialists in their fields. They manage safety on the hill and run the sessions back at base camp.

Fitness and experience

A moderate level of fitness and a willingness to push yourselves is all that’s needed. No outdoor experience is required. Tell us about any access or health needs and we’ll plan the days around your team.
